Rose Thayer:
Rose began dance at the age of three and has been involved in dance
since then. Rose began her degree at Lamar, where she majored in
dance. She moved to Houston and finished her Bachelor of Fine Arts
with a speciality in Dance & Art at the acclaimed University of Houston.
After gaining her degree, Rose freelanced until she found her way
back to Orange where she taught at local dance schools. Rose
decided it was time to branch out on her own and open her own
studio which just celebrated its 25th anniversary.

The studio carries a long tradition excellence with graduates continuing their dance
careers as professional dancers in companies across the United States. Many have also
gone on to become instructors and choreographers with universities and dance
companies.
Rose Thayer Academy of Dance was established in 1982 and is currently located in
Orange on 16th Street and in Orangefield on Hwy 105.
The studio makes contributions to the Orange community performing in various civic
functions, benefits, and parades throughout the year.
